Lazy LadyGrowing up my parents would harp me about being lazy. From sleeping in late, not cleaning up after myself, to not caring much about School. From what I was told, I was the epitome of lazy.

Some 20 years later I stopped to reflect on those odd years of my life, making me ask the question, was I really lazy?

Well, yeah of course I was. I had selective lazy syndrome like no other. If you told me to do it, it wasn’t going to get done. If you left me alone my lazy ass would get up and do it.

Being lazy paid off through those years then into the Marines when I unknowingly developed a rather sharp skill from being lazy. I may still procrastinate my duties but when I do those duties the product of being lazy has paid off.

Lazy GuyI’m much quicker now, more efficient and always on the look out to automate or speed up the process. I get the job done correctly the first time. After all I’m too lazy to do it twice. If I’m stuck with a mundane task you can bet, my lazy ass is working out a solution to get done quicker.

The other benefit of being lazy is stress, or the lack of. Taking a relaxed view gives you time to better analyze a situation or project and calmly attack it from a productive angle. The payoff can be better physical and mental health allowing you to have better productivity.

So don’t knock your lazy offspring and don’t kick around the lazy office worker. We may take a little pushing to wakeup and get the job done but when we do you can be sure we will do it better than anyone else!
