Being able to work with Clients and Webmasters on a daily basis has provided me with some insight on how some Adult Webmasters view RSS Feeds. From the Owners to the Daily Webmaster it appears most feel RSS Feeds are for pushing hosted galleries on Blogs or other Websites. Simply, a “Content Rich RSS Feed”, with only one type of “Content”, Hosted Galleries.
One of the tools I use to watch blog updates from my personal blogs to a few very busy popular blogs is FireFox. For those of you who don’t know, FireFox has a Live Bookmark feature, which reads in, displays, and updates the News Headlines for you automatically, all within FireFox, all without the need of a plugin.
Setting up FireFox To Syndicate Feeds:
Open FireFox, go to the Bookmarks Tab, and then select Organize Bookmarks. This will open the “Bookmarks Manager” for FireFox. Select the File Tab at the top, and now select “New Live Bookmark“. This opens the window below, complete the feed information, and then press ok.

Name: TheDocBlog
Feed Location: http://thedocblog.com/feed/
Or: http://feeds.feedburner.com/TheDocBlog
Description: Webmaster Resource and Tutorials
Once the Live Bookmark has been created you can select it within the right window and drag it into the “Bookmarks Toolbar Folder“. This will put the Syndicated Feed directly on the FireFox Browser Toolbar. To help organize multiple feeds create a folder within the “Bookmarks Toolbar Folder” called “Webmaster Feeds“. Place all Syndicated Feeds into this directory to help clean up browser clutter.
To view entries from your favorite Blogs, simply browse to the “Webmaster Feeds” Folder on the FireFox ToolBar, and then select a Blog to view the current Post Titles that have been syndicated.
I don’t use FireFox to watch many Blogs. Having a large list of Live Bookmarks slows the loading of FireFox by 1 whole second and that bothers me. So I watch my own Blogs, and a few key Blogs with lots of fresh posts. Below I have put together a small list of Blogs that I often enjoy reading. You shouldn’t hesitate to syndicate a Website with interesting content, you can always remove it later if it doesn’t match your needs, sucks, or quits updating.
