The contest is about as straight forward as it gets:
The Top 5 Commenter's to make the most comments at the end of the Month will win prizes. The grand prizes being reserved for the top 3, and all participants will get a free link back for each comment made! Random Contributors that make the best comment, the funniest, the best addition, and so on can also win random prizes.
Prizes include:
- First Place: $25 Cash via PayPal or ePassporte. Your choice of selected Sponsor Gifts.
- Second Place: $20 via PayPal or ePassporte. Your choice of selected Sponsor Gifts.
- Third Place: $10 via PayPal or ePassporte. Your choice of selected Sponsor Gifts.
- Fourth and Fifth Place: Your choice of selected Sponsor Gifts.
All Webmasters, Programs, Products, and Companies!
Each Month, only the Top 3 Commenter's will also get Free Recognition on the Blog Role, which repeats throughout every page at the bottom of TheDocBlog. This will also include a free button that rotates throughout the Resource Directory, Industry News Blog and various other locations throughout TheDocBlog.
Sponsor Donated Gifts:
These donated items range widely depending on what the participating Sponsors wish to Donate. Sponsors with the best gift donations get promoted the heaviest. So it's always in the Sponsors best interest and my own, to come up with the possible Gifts for you!
We will NOT list the donated gifts until the end of the Month. That's why it's a surprise. But to give you a hint they could include extra cash payments, huge special discounts or massive payout increases, company-program-paysite schwag, free trade show and seminar passes, free hotel rooms, paid for travel expenses, and even free vacations! We may leak the info just a little, so make sure you subscribe to TheDocBlogs RSS Feed to stay on top of those 'Secret RSS Feed only hints."
Little Hint: You DO NOT have to be actively be promoting any of the Sponsors to win. However, Sponsors will give up "much more" to those that already promote them, even if it's only a small amount of traffic, it will make a big difference to you!
The Rules:
- The contest automatically resets the first of every Month.
- Cash payouts will be taken care of the first week of every Month.
- Comment totals get monitored by a Word press Plug-ins.
- Short, not-worthy, trash comments that do not add to the topic, yell at the topic, discuss the topic, or at least contribute some half logic to the topic, will be deleted.
- Your URL in your profile cannot link to a Spam pages, banner farms, and search engine trap nightmares.
- Your URL can contain your trade submit pages, contact pages, review pages, programs, products, personal or business social sites, affiliate linking codes are allowed. Keep the Spam on the forums!
- Multi-staff Companies, programs, products, etc, are encouraged to participate. A few of staff from each Company is acceptable and helps make sure your brand gets exposure. But please, don't over do it!
Rules on Sponsor Gifts:
After you have selected your Sponsor Gift. I will collect your data and provide it to the Sponsor. I will confirm the Sponsor received the information. At this point I will cc-email you and the Sponsor, making all parties aware of what the deal is. The Sponsor is responsible for to sending you the Gifts. If you want your Gifts, it's your responsibility to make sure the Sponsor delivers the goods. It's my responsibility to make sure I find Sponsors that always and quickly deliver, keeping my top commenter's happy!

I get quite a few errors when I try to post a comment. Tried several days before and failed. Maybe you should look into that as a possible reason there aren't as many comments as there should be.

I haven't heard of any errors while posting comments, but I will check into it either way.
Did you get an error of some type?

Most of the time the comment was tagged as spam by some 3rd party plugin you're using, or used to, or it would say I don't have javascript enabled which I did.
I'm using the wordpress plugin Wp-SpamFree
It uses a mixture of JS/Ajax or whatever to help stop comment and trackback spam.
The plugin had an update about 2-3 days ago, maybe that corrected the issue. Did you have any problems posting this time?
And finally, what OS/Browser combo are you on? I will see if I can emulate the setup and test for issues.
And if all else fails, I will try replacing the comments template. This is the original template that I changed so it could have errors.
